The Juice: I wanna tear that shiz down

I was at my new coaching mastermind.
Every hair was in place.

We were paired up for a radical honesty exercise.

My partner for the next hour started out telling me how impressive I was.
My degrees.
How polished I was.
How clever.

My ego was like:

Then my partner leaned in and said,
“I wanna tear all that sh!t down.”

Erm, what?!

All my efforting and illusions of perfection, he said, were making me unrelatable.

Where were my quirks and foibles?
My weirdness?
My messes?

It was like taking a bullet hearing this.

It was also the biggest possible gift (eventually!)

It freed me.

This is a loving reminder that perfectionism BLOCKS connection.

Loosen up.

Let your freak flag fly, even just a little.
